Left Back – Jose Gaya/Sead Kolasinac

Aleksander Kolarov has enjoyed his best start to a season for a few years and has a rocket of a left foot, but is not consistent enough with it. He also often finds himself out of position defensively. Gael Clichy is steady, but not spectacular, and has been prone to errors. With both left backs over 30, it is a position City will need to address sooner rather than later.

Valencia full back Jose Gaya is making quite a name for himself in Spain and he has been linked with several top Premier League clubs in the last few years. However with Gary Neville’s side struggling in La Liga, coupled with a wealthy owner and a €50 million release fee, it would seem unlikely that the 20-year-old could be prized away from Los Che just yet.

Sead Kolasinac is another name linked with City in the past few weeks and it has been mooted that the Schalke player could be available for around £6 million.
