Louis van Gaal let go of four strikers in the summer window, replacing them all with youngster Anthony Martial. However, as talented as he is, he’s a 19 year old and cannot shoulder the responsibility of the front line.

With Wayne Rooney not having his best season and the general paucity of attacking options, approaching Everton to buy one of the best strikers in the Premier league seems the most logical thing to do.

The Belgian is having his most prolific season yet, scoring 19 goals in all competitions – that’s more than twice the number of goals Rooney and Martial have scored during the same period.

If ever there was a player who would excel at United it is Lukaku. He would not come cheap and The Toffees have no reason to sell mid0season. However, if United give the Roberto Martinez’s side enough of an incentive, there might just be a chance.
