Michy Batshuayi – Marseille
Having been continuously linked with Spurs by the press in the last month, it’s obvious why Batshuayi has caught Pochettino’s eye. Batshuayi has scored 14 goals in 24 games for Marseille and is showing huge potential, leading the press to claim the 22-year-old is a good fit for Pochettino’s side. One thing that might deter Tottenham from trying to push for a deal is his defensive work rate, which is something that he needs to work on. Given the emphasis Pochettino puts on his players working hard in the high press system, Batshuayi could struggle initially.
However, those hoping to see Batshuayi grace White Hart Lane come January, or even further in the future, have been dealt a significant blow, as Batshuayi has reportedly signed a new contract until 2020 at the Stade Velodrome, making a transfer very hard.
