Loic Remy – Chelsea
Southampton are on a very poor run of form going into the window; since the last international break, the Saints have won just once in the past ten games, and lost eight times in that period. But aside from being ruthlessly slaughtered 6-1 by Liverpool in the Capital One Cup, they’ve all been decided by Ronald Koeman’s side failing to take chances and being punished for their prolifigacy in front of goal.
Enter Loïc Rémy. The Frenchman has been a bit-part at Chelsea despite their well-documented woes this season, even falling behind the almost joke figure that is Radamel Falcao in the pecking order.
But Remy is still a striker to be feared, and has pace and a clinical edge that are lacking at St Mary’s. With his mind more focused on Les Blues this summer (rather than The Blues this season), a loan spell on the South Coast may help him get back into Didier Deschamps thoughts, especially with Karim Benzema’s troubles off the pitch.
