Arsenal managed to get the better of Leicester City at the King Power Stadium this afternoon thanks to a fine first-half performance.
The Gunners took the lead through a brilliant Gabriel Magalhaes header in the fifth minute before Emile Smith Rowe doubled their lead a little while later.
Arsenal bossed the game in the first half and were very resilient after the break. They completely deserved the win and Mikel Arteta will be a happy man.
Here are five impressive stats as Arsenal temporarily move to fifth place…
The Aaron Ramsdale effect :
A lot was said about the Englishman when he left Sheffield United to join Arsenal. Many supporters of the Emirates Stadium club didn’t want him either, but he has proved every single one of his doubters wrong.
Ramsdale was brilliant this afternoon and he deserved his clean sheet. Since Arteta put him into the side instead of Bernd Leno, only Chelsea (2) and Manchester City (3) have conceded fewer goals than Arsenal. (Orbinho) No wonder the Gunners are unbeaten since!

Goals from corners:
If there’s one team that you don’t associate with scoring from corners, it’s Arsenal. The Gunners’ record from set-piece situations has been woeful over the years, but Arteta seems to have changed that.
Arsenal have scored from corners in four consecutive games now. That’s more than they managed in the entire Premier League campaign last season (3), which is a massive improvement. (Orbinho)

Change of fortunes away from home
Arsenal’s away form has never been great over the years. This season didn’t seem any different with defeats at Brentford and Manchester City and a draw at Brighton and Hove Albion.
The win at Leicester this afternoon was an important one for Arteta in that regard, especially as his lads scored more goals away from home today than they have in the other four Premier League away matches this season combined. (Orbinho)

Saka stars at Leicester
If you ask Arsenal fans to pick their best players from today’s game, most people’s answer would be Aaron Ramsdale, followed by Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey.
However, Saka, even though it didn’t look like it, had a very good game. The youngster created three chances today, more than any other Arsenal player. (Squawka) He picked up an assist as well, and he was heavily involved in the second goal too.

Emile Smith Rowe has stepped up
Smith Rowe is a really special player. He has the potential to become one of the best in the league, but his end product was underwhelming for the most part last season. Arteta demanded more from him and he is now delivering.
The youngster has now scored four goals and has provided two assists in his last seven appearances in all competitions. That’s a very good return for a 21-year-old and if he carries on at this rate, he will hit double figures quite comfortably.
