Five harsh realities for Manchester United fans in 2016

The “United Way” is a total myth if Jose Mourinho is appointed.

This is likely the most critical point.

There are so many noises coming out of Old Trafford that Jose Mourinho should be brought in as the next boss. Yet the sheer suggestion of this is in direct contrast to the ideals that fans hold dear towards United.

Jose Mourinho will not play fast attractive football.

Jose Mourinho will not bring youth through

Jose Mourinho will not bring a romantic image.

In fact, if these fans get their wish, any talk of the “United Way” should be seriously examined.

The only real reason the fans want Jose in, is because they want to be the best again. When you have been (and this is a divisive phrase if ever there was one), knocked off your perch, the most important thing for your pride, is to get back up there, and if club philosophies are ignored, so be it.

I write this having just seen United take three points off Swansea, following a much improved showing against Chelsea.

Additionally, Sadio Mane to United is a rumour that won’t go away, and his pace could be a shot of life into the team, so it does appear that progress is being made.

However, the above factors cannot be ignored.

It does appear that LVG will be given until the summer, barring a dramatic collapse in January, so where the club goes from now until the end of the season is going to be fascinating.
