Nobody is scared of United
Simple one this.
Remember when Wolves played a second string team at United, as they knew they would get a pasting, so took the chance to rest players.
Contrast that to the tactics used by Norwich at Old Trafford a few weeks ago, who played without fear, and came away victorious.
It’s crass to say that the aura of The Theatre of Dreams has gone, that will never vanish, but in the same vain, there are an awful lot of teams that are having a go when they step pitch-side in the red half of Manchester.
This could be extended to the fact that when Ferguson left, as did his titular “Fergie-Time”. While it was complete (and probably jealous) speculation that Sir Alex’s men got more time than they should within the laws of the game, there would always be that jitter in the opposition’s stomach’s when defending a 1-1 in front of the Stretford end, knowing that the 90′ mark had just been bypassed.
This fear has long since been removed, and it’s been seen a few times recently, that opposition teams are comfortable well into the dying seconds of a game, regardless of the score.
