Listening to various football phone ins in the last few weeks, much has been made about the situation at Old Trafford, and for every fan, there comes a different opinion on both the current issues, and the best course of action.

In amongst this discourse, comes a large number of strong minded, and passionate statements and opinions, however, a selection of these can be misguided at the best of times and delusional at the very worst.

Whilst this can be expected from a fanbase starved of the attractive football that was becoming its calling card, there comes a point where realities need to be accepted, steps back need to be taken, and a common sense should prevail.

Therefore, here are, in the least divisive way possible (and I really did try to not let this descend into mockery!), the five home truths that Manchester United fans need to come to terms with.
