Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is in desperate need of a win at the weekend, as his team are still without a victory after their opening 10 Premier League games.

They are currently sat in the relegation zone and the pressure is intensifying around the club.

The Magpies host Watford on Saturday in the league at St James’ Park and the fixture has not been happy one in recent times for the North East club.

Newcastle have lost their last five consecutive matches across all competitions against Watford, with four of them coming in the league.

The omens are not good for Benitez’s side going into the match, especially as Watford are up in a lofty seventh the league and have picked up 19 points already.

Newcastle were beaten at home 3-0 in the league last season by Watford and the players need to bury those demons by making things right at the weekend.

They have shown some defensive resilience in recent games by conceding once in two matches, but it’s in the final third of the pitch that they have to improve rapidly.

Watford are a free-scoring side that will be confident of getting a result away at Newcastle, but the hosts need at some point their season to turnaround.
