Jake Hesketh

Stockport born Hesketh is a diminutive central midfielder and has featured twice in the Premier League for the Saints, starting against Burnley and coming off of the bench against Manchester United under Ronald Koeman in December 2014.

Against the Clarets, Hesketh enjoyed a lively time, making his presence felt to Clarets stopper Tom Heaton with a heavy challenge, before suffering an injury after being on the receiving end of an equally hard tackle from Michael Keane.

The then 18-year-old was substituted after just 30 minutes and sat on the bench in tears. Hesketh scored his first senior goal in the EFL Cup win over Crystal Palace this season, and with his balance, poise and range of passing, expect the classy midfielder to be lighting up St.Mary’s Stadium in the not too distant future.
