'First team ASAP': Some Arsenal fans want 16-goal Hale End star to replace Aubameyang

A number of Arsenal fans have called on Mikel Arteta to drop Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and promote Folarin Balogun to the senior Gunners setup.

The Arsenal captain has been struggling for form lately and has gone five games without scoring, his last goal coming in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa in October.

Aubameyang has just four goals and one assist from 13 Premier League games, a poor tally considering what he’s capable of.

At Manchester United, the 32-year-old delivered a poor performance, offering little in build-up play and struggling to hold the ball up.

Meanwhile, Balogun has been in sensational form for the Under-23s this season after a short stint with the seniors, clearly showing he’s in need of a step up.

The 20-year-old has registered a staggering 16 goals and two assists in just 15 appearances this season, and that’s including the senior games.

Balogun’s tally in youth competition reads 12 games, 16 goals, two assists, clearly showing he’s outgrown the development setup.

Some Arsenal fans have been calling for him to go on loan to a top-end EFL team, but in wake of Aubameyang’s struggles, others now feel Balogun should be given a go again.
