Liverpool fans have loved seeing Virgil van Dijk back in training again, after the club published a brief nine second clip yesterday.

Liverpool are currently in Austria, where Van Dijk is gearing up to return to action.

The Dutch defender missed almost all of last campaign with injury.

But Van Dijk looked as purposeful as ever yesterday, as he strode on to the pitch and embraced Andy Robertson.

And Liverpool fans loved seeing their defensive duo back together again on the training pitch.

Van Dijk’s return to action is set to improve Liverpool significantly next term.

Liverpool were forced to try out numerous defensive pairings last term, as Jurgen Klopp’s side suffered badly with injury.

But Van Dijk is now fit again, as is Joel Matip and Joe Gomez, while Ibrahima Konate has been signed.

That leaves Liverpool’s central defensive options looking far more plentiful, and competition should now be fierce for a place at the back.
