Arsenal fans appear to be excited that Gabriel Martinelli has been training as a striker in the past week.

Football London report that Mikel Arteta has been using Martinelli up top at London Colney, after footage emerged from Arsenal training.

Arsenal go into their game with Chelsea with numerous problems in their attacking ranks.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is a doubt, Alexandre Lacazette is out, and Eddie Nketiah is injured.

Folarin Balogun was the man was who selected to lead the line on opening day, but he struggled to make an impact against Brentford.

And it now seems that it could be Martinelli’s opportunity to start up-front.

Martinelli has, of course, scored one memorable goal against Chelsea before in the League Cup when deployed as a centre forward.

And Arsenal fans are hoping that the Brazilian could do similar this time around, as they gear up to face Thomas Tuchel’s side on Sunday.
