A number of Arsenal fans have rejoiced as the club shared a Twitter post which featured Bernd Leno back on the training pitch.

The Gunners first-choice goalkeeper was forced off on a stretcher during the Gunners’ 2-1 defeat by Brighton on 20 June after injuring his leg.

Leno leapt for the ball and landed awkwardly under a challenge from Neal Maupay, and when being carried off, he was seen sitting up and reprimanding the Seagulls forward.

A lot of fans feared that the 28-year-old had suffered an ACL injury, but a few days later, Arsenal announced that their keeper had sustained a moderate ligament sprain to his knee.

The communication added that Leno was aiming for a return to full training in four to six weeks, and on Tuesday, Arsenal shared footage of the Germany ace back on the training ground.

And plenty of fans loved what they saw:

Though Emiliano Martinez performed superbly in Leno’s absence all the way to the end of the Premier League season, it’s a relief to see the No. 1 back, especially given the scare in wake of his injury at the Amex Stadium.

The club confirmed on Tuesday that Leno is participating in outside running and ball drills, and aiming to be back in full training this week, so it remains to be seen whether he’ll feature in the FA Cup final.
