Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that Granit Xhaka is set to sign a new contract at Arsenal.
Xhaka to stay
Xhaka looked almost certain to leave Arsenal at one stage this summer, with Roma pushing hard to sign him.
The £30 million central midfielder (Independent) hinted that a move away from the Emirates Stadium would appeal.
However, Xhaka seems to have had a change of heart after talks with the Gunners hierarchy.
As a result Xhaka is set to sign a new four year contract at Arsenal, which will keep him at the North London club until 2025.
Controversial move?
The move is sure to be a controversial one, given the expectation for major changes this summer.

Xhaka’s departure looked likely to be followed up by the signing of a central midfielder.
But Arsenal may no longer push to add another midfielder to their squad if Xhaka does sign, with Albert Sambi Lokonga already at the club.
If Xhaka does stay it seems likely he could have a big role to play with the Gunners, after he was such an important part of Mikel Arteta’s squad last year.
