The race to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is reportedly hotting up with Ajax leading Tottenham Hotspur and three other clubs in the battle for his signature – and Fenerbahce supporters have responded on Twitter to interest from Spurs.
Spurs are said to be on the lookout for a goalkeeper ahead of the summer window as Hugo Lloris continued to come in for criticism – and that his future is in doubt. He has arguably at fault for two of City’s three goals on Saturday.
He also conceded give to Everton in the FA Cup last week and now, the France captain is being linked with a return to his home country – most notably as a replacement to Keylor Navas at Paris Saint-Germain, reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino.
Turkish newspaper Fanatik claim Spurs are one of five clubs keen on Bayindir – along with Ajax, Lille, Schalke and Werder Bremen. But of those that are interested, Tottenham are surely the most-attractive club if he is to be considered first choice.
Fenerbahce fans caught wind of the reported interest in Bayindir, who was bought for a mere £1.5million just last summer from Ankaragucu (Fanatik, as per Turkish Football). Many do not want him sold, while others suggested fees, or a swap deal.
