It could well be great news for Everton in their bid to offload £60,000-a-week star Tosun (Spotrac), who signed for the Toffees in January 2018 from Besiktas on the watch of Sam Allardyce.

Tosun started his career at Goodison brightly, but quickly started to struggle and at the moment he behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Moyes Kean in the pecking order.

Carlo Ancelotti has never used the player, keeping him on the bench for games in December and January against Burnley, Newcastle United and Manchester City before loaning him to Crystal Palace.

A knee injury, which required surgery, saw him make just five appearances for the Eagles.

Fenerbahce were linked Tosun just last month (Fanatik).

The £27 million deal (BBC Sport) was questioned at the time, and ultimately it has proven to be poor business.

Ancelotti has had a positive effect on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison, and there’s a chance Kean will come good in his second season.

Simply put, the Italian just doesn’t have any real need for Tosun and the club are best-served cutting their losses.

With Muriqi looking Lazio-bound, Everton surely have to indulge Fenerbahce.
