Felipe Anderson makes claim about his West Ham future after loan departure

Felipe Anderson has claimed he will be back at West Ham next season and wants to return “stronger” after leaving this summer on loan.

The 27-year-old has completed a move to Portuguese giants Porto on a season-long loan, which will give him the opportunity to play in the Champions League group stages.

David Moyes’ side have granted his temporary exit from the London Stadium, as the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals are currently excelling in the wide areas for them.

Anderson is a skilful left-winger that has shown glimpses of his ability since he joined from Lazio in 2018, but it’s not quite happen for him for the Irons and he’ll now try rediscover his best form elsewhere.

The speed machine scored one goals and supplied two assists in his three League Cup appearances this season, but failed to start a Premier League game and has been allowed to exit.

But Anderson has said today that he doesn’t see his West Ham future ending just yet.

“I have a contract still with West Ham so next season I’ll be here so I need to do my best to be back stronger,” Anderson told talkSPORT (11:12pm, 7 October).

He was asked if he was hoping to get back to West Ham next season and be successful, which he responded by saying “yes of course”.

TBR’s View:

Anderson hasn’t lived up to the hype in a West Ham shirt unfortunately and Moyes can’t be blamed for shifting him out on loan, especially when he’s got Robert Snodgrass and Andriy Yarmolenko in reserve in the wide positions.

The Hammers have got to hope the Brazilian gets back to his best in a Porto shirt this year, which will allow them to either cash in next summer on him or give him another chance to stake his place in the first-team.
