32 – Burnley a tough nut to crack on home turf
With Manchester United still having to travel to London to face Arsenal and Tottenham, as well as play Manchester City next week, this would have been deemed as one of their easier run-in matches.
Yet it’ll be far from that on Sunday afternoon as Burnley try to continue their sensational form at home this season that has seen them lose just three times in 16 Premier League games at Turf Moor.
Sean Dyche’s side have collected a huge 89% of their points tally this season (32) from home fixtures, and have beaten Liverpool and Everton – as well as held Chelsea – so far this year.
It’s an impressive statistic as far as Burnley are concerned, and if it wasn’t for their exceptional run at Turf Moor then the Clarets would be in a much stickier predicament than they find themselves in now.
Add to this the fact that United failed to penetrate a well-drilled Burnley defence at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture and Dyche will know that his side have the ability to frustrate the visitors once again.
Despite this impressive form at home though, Manchester United are arguably facing the Clarets at the right time of the season; Burnley have struggled to maintain this level of form in their previous ten Premier League matches, winning only once in a run that’s included four draws and five defeats.
