Gary Lineker has given his thoughts on how Leeds United could do in the Premier League this season, as quoted in The Sun.
Last season, Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites ended 16 years of hurt by winning the Championship title and earning promotion back to the top flight.
Leeds came so close in 2018-19, Bielsa’s first season at the helm, only to fall out of automatic contention and eventually bow out at the playoff stage.
However, the Argentine stayed put at Elland Road and achieved what he set out to do the following season, via a tense wait due to the suspension of English football.

Now back in the Premier League, Leeds have bolstered their ranks with the likes of Rodrigo Moreno and Robin Koch.
In addition, some loanees have joined permanently, Jack Harrison is back on loan from Manchester City, and some talented youngsters have also been snapped up.
And Lineker reckons Leeds have the best chance out of the newly-promoted sides of staying up, expressing his desire to see how Bielsa does in the English top flight.
“Of the new boys, I think Leeds have the best chance of staying up,” Lineker wrote in The Sun.
“It’s great to see them back in the top flight after a 16-year absence and I’m fascinated to see how manager Marcelo Bielsa does.
“There is something of the ‘mad genius’ about the Argentine but his team were brilliant against Arsenal in the FA Cup last season.
“I can’t wait to see more of them against the big boys and what a way to start for them — away at Anfield, the home of the champions. The only thing I wish is that the fans were there to see it.”
TBR View:
It’s been a great summer for Leeds fans, their team finally getting over the line in terms of promotion and putting an end to 16 years in the Football League wilderness.

Let’s not forget that, during the suspension of football, it was touch and go in terms of what would happen to the season, as some other leagues were going for Points Per Game or even voiding the campaign.
However, it all worked out well in the end and, with Bielsa set to stay put at Leeds for the time being and some great signings arriving at Elland Road, there’s a lot of optimism as to how the Whites should do this term.
Indeed, quite a few pundits have been claiming that Leeds should do well this season – and now the league starts again, we’ll soon find out.
