Tottenham Hotspur new boy Rodrigo Bentancur has branded Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski as ‘fantastic players’.

The Uruguayan has settled in really well at Spurs since his arrival from Juventus in the January transfer window. He has barely put a foot wrong and is already a fan favourite at the club.

Bentancur’s role in the side requires him to be positionally disciplined and help in transition from defence to attack. He has done that fairly well over the last two months and the players in front of him have done the rest.

The ex-Juventus man was asked about Tottenham’s attack and he feels that he just has to pass the ball to the trio up top and they almost always manage to find the back of the net.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Son, Kane and Kulusevski are fantastic

In an interview with The Evening Standard this week, Bentancur said: “It does help coming with a team-mate (Kulusevski).

“I knew that he was a great player, but I think he is displaying even more qualities and abilities since he arrived at Tottenham. He’s playing even better than at Juve.

“Our front three are fantastic players (Kane, Son Kulusevski).

“So our job is really just to get the ball back and give it to them because it is a 99 per cent chance they are going to score a goal!”

Kane and Son have been up there with the very best players in the Premier League for a few years now and it’s no surprise that Bentancur has been impressed with them.

Kulusevski, on the other hand, has surprised many people, probably even Antonio Conte. It’s never easy for a player from a different league to come in and hit the ground running, especially during the middle of the season. The Swede has made that look like a myth.

In just 11 starts in a Tottenham shirt, Kulusevski has scored three goals and provided six assists. That is an exceptional return and the fact that he’s still only 21 means he’ll only get better.

Both Kulusevski and Bentancur really are proving to be excellent signings for Tottenham.
