Tottenham and England defender Eric Dier has thrown his support behind Dele Alli and insisted that the Spurs midfielder could easily get back to his best.
Alli has endured a miserable 2020 in the main under Jose Mourinho, dropping down the pecking order for Tottenham and, as thing stand, struggling to even make the squad.

But Dier, who has been out of the team himself at times in his career, has backed Alli to overcome is current obstacle and come out fighting.
“Everyone has them in their careers and Dele has got a fantastic personality. I am sure he is going to get down to work and put his head down and try and get back where he was a year ago or so”, Dier told the Independent.
“Someone with his quality and what his attributes are, he is still a fantastic player, you don’t lose that overnight and he is going through a difficult time, it is no secret to anyone, but as footballers, there is always going to be moments like these.”
Alli was initially used as a key player by Mourinho but has since found himself out of the first-team picture. The former MK Dons man was expected to leave before the deadline but stayed put, with Mourinho insistent Alli can fight for his place.

Dier’s support, then, will be a boost for the England midfielder as he looks to overcome the biggest obstacle in his career so far.
Good to see from Dier and he is correct – TBR View
This is nice to see from two friends and teammates and there is no doubt that Alli can come back fighting fit and get back to his best.
You don’t suddenly drop from being one of the best attacking midfielders in the world and become nothing overnight.
Alli will – hopefully anyway – get back to his best soon and convince Jose Mourinho to put him back in his plans.
