Harry Kane and Eric Dier have both raved about Tottenham’s latest reported target in recent years

Tottenham are reportedly eyeing a move for Everton’s Jordan Pickford – who has been praised by Eric Dier and Harry Kane in recent years.

Pickford, 27, has emerged as a surprise contender for Antonio Conte and Spurs – with Hugo Lloris’ future in doubt. He is out of contract next June.

The 42-time England international has a contract at Everton until June 2024 – meaning the Toffees are under no immediate pressure to sell.

However, plenty of expenditure in recent windows means Everton might have to sell before buying – in order to comply with Financial Fairplay rules.

The Telegraph state that if they were to sell, Everton would be confident of bringing in more than £25million – the fee Everton paid Sunderland in 2017.

Both Dier and Kane have praised Pickford in recent season – having played alongside the goalkeeper for England. Dier, after the Colombia shootout.

“Jordan is a brilliant goalkeeper, deserves everything. Attitude is fantastic. Brilliant in training and taken it into the game,” Dier said in July 2018.

In June 2021, Kane gave his verdict on Pickford – as per The Echo: “Jordan’s brilliant and it’s great to have him,” when asked about a penalty shootout.

Dier and Kane on Pickford: Should Tottenham sign Everton stopper?

Tottenham currently have Lloris between the sticks and it is hard to get much better than the 2018 World Cup winner. He is incredibly consistent.

But if he is to leave, and the two parties are unable to extend his contract beyond the end of the season – then Pickford is easily a viable replacement.

Much like Lloris, the left-footed England man has had bad spells of form – but is pretty consistent and is excellent with the ball at his feet.

Depending on how much Everton would charge, Tottenham would get a brilliant goalkeeper. But whether Pickford would go, remains to be seen.
