Lucas Paqueta is quickly establishing himself amongst the recent greats at West Ham.
The Brazilian has been utterly fantastic since joining the Hammers last summer, and he’s right up there alongside the likes of Declan Rice, Dimitri Payet and Carlos Tevez as one of the most talented players we’ve seen at West Ham in recent years.
Of course, these modern greats at West Ham don’t quite compare to the old guard, but Paqueta has now received a glowing endorsement from one of the club’s greatest ever.
Indeed, speaking to The Mirror, Geoff Hurst has been full of praise for the Brazilian, describing him as a fantastic player, while also reserving praise for Mohammad Kudus and Jarrod Bowen as well.

Geoff Hurst praises Lucas Paqueta
The World Cup winner spoke highly of the West Ham midfielder.
“Yes, fantastic, absolutely brilliant. It was a funny season last season, we finished up winning a trophy, things have improved again this year, Paqueta is fantastic, Kudus is brilliant and Bowen up front, when everyone is fit and well, the difference is this year is we’re out of trouble now, we have 36 points, still involved in winning a trophy, so, again, a really good season,” Hurst said.
Highest possible praise
Praise as a West Ham player doesn’t come much higher than this.
If Geoff Hurst is singing you’re praises, you’re doing something right.
The West Ham legend is undoubtedly one of the best strikers this country has ever produced, and he knows a good player when he sees one.
Paqueta has been incredible for West Ham since arriving last summer, and his return performance against Brentford on Monday evening just served to further underline how important he is to this team.
Make no mistake about it, Paqueta is one of the best players West Ham have had in this modern era.
