‘Fantastic’: Antonio Conte was really impressed by what one Tottenham player did against Fulham yesterday

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has told the club’s official website that he was really impressed by what Hugo Lloris did against Fulham yesterday.

Conte’s men maintained their unbeaten start to the season as they beat the Cottagers 2-1 at home yesterday.

Spurs were cruising for a large part of the game after goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Kane.

Marco Silva’s men didn’t create many opportunities and the game looked to have been wrapped up after Kane put Spurs 2-0 up.

But just after Richarlison came close in the 81st minute, the in-form Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a brilliant goal to get Fulham back in the game.

Shortly after, Lloris produced a magnificent save to deny Mitrovic a second goal.

And Conte was seriously impressed with how his captain kept his concentration during the game.

Conte really impressed by what Lloris did

“Especially in this type of game because we were good to create many chances and not concede chances to Fulham,” Conte told Spurs Play

“Especially in this type of game, the good keepers always stay with great attention because Hugo is a fantastic goalkeeper for us.

“I’m a bit disappointed because we could’ve finished this game with another clean sheet but it’s ok. To get three points and 14 points in the table is important.

“It’s important because we had a good start this season and it’s important before the game in the Champions League to arrive with a good win.”

Lloris has been a mainstay in the Spurs side since making the switch from Lyon just over 10 years ago.

The 35-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down despite being in the latter stages of his career.

Conte clearly sees the France international as a key player in his side and Lloris came up big for the Italian when he needed him yesterday.

Spurs controlled the game for large periods, but Lloris made two big saves when called upon and helped his side take all three points.
