A number of Rangers and Portsmouth fans responded to Ross McCrorie on Twitter after the youngster suffered another injury setback in his latest appearance for the League One side.
McCrorie’s loan spell has been mixed. Some of his performances have seen the Gers youngsters lauded by the supporters, and his versatility has shone through during his time at Fratton Park.
However, he has struggled with injury. He missed the large majority of November, and it appears that he may be set for another spell on the sidelines. The 21-year-old had to be taken off towards the end of the first-half during Saturday’s win over Ipswich.
Kenny Jackett confirmed after the game, in comments reported by Portsmouth News, that he has sustained an injury to the same hamstring that kept him out previously.
The news looks to be a big blow for McCrorie, who would have been hoping to prove a real point to Steven Gerrard while he is away.
But it appears that the Rangers fans remain confident that the youngster’s long-term future lies at Ibrox. They certainly sent the academy graduate a lot of love on social media in response to his latest tweet.
McCrorie paid tribute to the Pompey fans and expressed his hope that his injury was not too serious. And he received a lot of praise.
It is clear that some Rangers supporters want McCrorie back in Gerrard’s ranks as soon as possible. But the Portsmouth fans are also hoping for a positive update on his injury as he has impressed during his time on the south coast.
Here is McCrorie’s tweet as well as some of the best responses…
