Fans react to Leeds loanee Laurens De Bock’s latest Sunderland display

A number of fans took to Twitter to comment on Laurens De Bock’s latest performance for Sunderland – with many suggesting that the Leeds United loanee definitely had an afternoon to forget.

The Black Cats marked their final league game before the international break with a 2-0 defeat. Lincoln City outplayed Jack Ross’s men, and the away fans were only too happy to voice their displeasure after the full-time whistle blew.

The defeat leaves Sunderland sixth in the table and four points adrift of the top two. And questions are now being asked of De Bock after the Whites loanee endured a tough afternoon.

It was actually the Belgian who came closest to scoring for the away side during the first-half. His brilliant effort with his weaker right foot was superbly tipped round the post.

But his second-half display caused a lot of concern. The left-back brought Bruno Andrade down inside the box for a Lincoln penalty. Luckily for the full-back, Tyler Walker’s effort hit the inside of the post and flew away from danger.

But De Bock made another error shortly after. The 26-year-old was caught completely out of position as Lincoln broke down Sunderland’s left flank and scored their second of the game.

De Bock looked to make a promising start to life at the Stadium of Light. But this latest display will not have surprised many of the Leeds fans who quickly grew frustrated with the defender following his £1.5 million switch in 2018 (fee reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post).

And there were plenty of people at the game – including one Leeds fan – suggesting that De Bock did not have a good day at the office at all.

Here is how some of the fans reacted to De Bock’s display…
