Fans react to Emile Smith Rowe display for England under-21s
A number of fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Emile Smith Rowe after the Arsenal youngster’s display for England’s under-21s on Thursday.
Lee Carsley’s men endured a frustrating evening in Celje. They had taken a 2-0 lead in their European Championship qualifier with Slovenia.
Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer scored the goals for the visitors inside the first 14 minutes.
Unfortunately, the home side came back in the second-half, scoring twice.
The result means the Three Lions have missed the chance to go top of their group. They would have overtaken Czech Republic had they won by four.
Smith Rowe was earning only his third cap for the side this week. The 21-year-old has been superb for Arsenal in the opening weeks of the campaign.
He is a player who will surely be in the conversation for the senior squad before too long.
He actually came agonisingly close to scoring a late winner. Smith Rowe produced an acrobatic bicycle kick that had to be tipped around the post in the 88th minute.
And it did not escape the attention of many Arsenal fans that he ended the game on the pitch alongside Folarin Balogun and Tyreece John-Jules.
The trio look to have the potential to play together a lot more in the years to come.
Certainly, Smith Rowe is going to be a key man for club and country for a long time.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans reacted to Smith Rowe’s display for England’s under-21s in Slovenia…
ESR carrying the team

It’s mad how much opinion runs the game. ESR playing for the u21s, yet he’s arguably better than or as good as those in the first team, I’d be fumin if I was him. Should be in World Cup squad next year, given he’s got still a bit more time to become an even better baller #Arsenal

Smith Rowe’s dribbling is ridiculous

Another very strong performance from smith rowe , linkup play was superb , shouldve definitely had an assist and couldve scored . Balogun shouldve won a pen as well

First half standouts probably goal scorers Palmer and Gallagher, who faded in the second half. Impressed by ESR’s drive and movement across the line to make things happen when chasing winner late. Skipp also never stopped showing for ball and was very steady throughout.

ESR is too good for that level. Senior call up coming soon tho

ESR looked the best, Balogun tried hard to get in the game and JJ can’t remember him touching the ball to be fair lol

My heart skipped a beat when ESR struck that volley. Slovenia were really good in the second half. Probs deserved the draw. ESR is way too good for U21. Deserves to be in senior team
