A number of fans, including plenty of Liverpool supporters, have taken to Twitter to comment on Takumi Minamino after his performance for Japan in their win over Australia on Tuesday.
Japan secured an important victory in their push to qualify for next year’s World Cup. A late own goal saw them beat the Socceroos 2-1 in Saitama.

The result leaves Hajime Moriyasu’s men third in their group, with six points from four games. They are three points behind the Aussies.
And Minamino played an important role in their win. It was his deflected cross that found Ao Tanaka for the opening goal eight minutes into the contest.

Minamino will now be hoping that he can use this international break as a springboard towards a lot more game-time upon his return to Merseyside.
Remarkably, he is yet to feature in the Premier League this season. He has been on the bench for all but one of the Reds’ top flight games.
Certainly, it would appear that plenty of Liverpool fans would like to see the 26-year-old involved more often.
Many were impressed with what they saw from Minamino while in action for his country.
