A number of fans have taken to Twitter to react to Jeremie Frimpong’s performance as Celtic suffered another disappointing defeat in the Europa League on Thursday.

All of the talk leading up to the game at the San Siro centred around Neil Lennon’s future. But the Bhoys boss responded by naming a strong side to face AC Milan.

And it looked like it may be a night in which Lennon may be able to prove a small point to his critics. Celtic took a 2-0 lead inside 14 minutes.

However, the Serie A side produced a fantastic turnaround. By the 50th minute, they were 3-2 in front against Celtic. And ultimately, they won 4-2.

Some of the Celtic players did threaten to produce improved performances. But it seemed to be Frimpong who received the most credit on social media following the game.

In truth, the right-sided player did come in for criticism. He did get himself into a lot of good positions. However, his final passes into the box were often poor and openings were passed up.

But many felt that the 19-year-old was actually a shining light on another disappointing night. He did look dangerous and cause problems for Milan.

And unfortunately, Celtic seem to be in a position right now where any bright performances are very welcome.

Several fans, including neutrals, took to Twitter to praise the former Manchester City youngster.

Here is what those looking on made of Frimpong’s performance…
