A number of fans of various clubs have taken to Twitter to comment on Douglas Luiz’s performance in Aston Villa’s defeat to West Ham on Monday.
The Villans were looking to bounce back from their loss to Brighton last time out. In fact, Dean Smith’s men went into the contest off the back of a poor run of three defeats in four.

Unfortunately for Villa, they were beaten at the London Stadium. However, they had the chances to get something from the game.
They dominated the second-half. Trezeguet missed a fantastic opportunity. Meanwhile, Ollie Watkins hit the bar with a late penalty. Watkins also thought he scored a late equaliser before being called offside.

It seemed to be a night in which few Villa players emerged with any credit. However, several spectators were full of praise for Douglas Luiz.
As shown by Whoscored.com, no player made more successful passes than the 22-year-old. He also won a number of aerial duels. Jack Grealish was the only player to complete more dribbles than the Brazilian.
And his performance prompted plenty of fans of several clubs to laud the former Manchester City man. Many insisted that he was one of Villa’s standout performers on another frustrating occasion for Smith’s side.
Here is how some of those watching the game reacted to Luiz’s display…
