Fans react on Twitter to Aston Villa star Jack Grealish’s England display

A number of fans from a host of clubs have taken to Twitter to comment on Jack Grealish’s performance as the Aston Villa talisman made his first competitive start for England on Sunday.

It proved to be a frustrating night for Gareth Southgate’s men. They fell to a 2-0 defeat in Belgium to end their hopes of winning their Nations League group.

The visitors struggled to ask too many questions of Roberto Martinez’s side. But when they did manage to cause problems, there tended to be a contribution from Grealish along the way.

The attacking midfielder was superb when running with the ball. And he produced some delicious touches that England were crying out for at times throughout the evening.

Villa fans will have not been surprised to see how many times their captain was fouled during the contest. Belgium had little choice at times but to bring him down.

It was a disappointing night for England. But, to many, it was also a night in which Grealish staked a real claim to play a key role for Southgate’s men heading into Euro 2020.

Of course, Villa fans were proud of how Grealish played. But they were joined by a number of rival supporters in lauding the 25-year-old on social media during and after the game.

There was even an admission from a Birmingham City fan regarding his display.
