Arsenal were twice behind against Portuguese outfit Vitoria in the Europa League last night but came through in stoppage time to win 3-2.

Former Tottenham winger Marcus Edwards put the visitors ahead but it was Arsenal’s summer signings who got the job done eventually.

Gabriel Martinelli got Arsenal’s first equaliser, before record capture Nicolas Pepe took over from dead ball situations.

He tied the game up at 2-2 from a free kick outside the box before capping his best performance in an Arsenal shirt with the winning goal scoring another in stoppage time.

Pepe has needed confidence since making his big-money move and this match could be the one which sparks his Gunners career into life.

He needs to make sure he continues with this quality and become the kind of player who comes up with the goods when Arsenal need him, easing the reliance on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The supporters were impressed with him on a night where he finally showed why Arsenal paid the money last summer, and want to see more of the same.
