Scott Brown refused to definitively rule out a return to international football if Scotland qualify for Euro 2020, as per the Scottish Sun.
Brown emphasised the need to look after his own fitness during the regular season but said ‘never say never’ when asked about the prospect of ending his international retirement.
He said: “They still have two games to get through but you never say never. It would be phenomenal to get to a finals after 22 years. Football’s a funny game and you never know. It’s been hard for me to watch the Scotland games because you always want to be playing in them.
“I need to look after number one though. My wish is I could still be playing for Celtic and Scotland at the age of 45. But there comes a time when you have to make sure your body’s okay and give yourself the best chance of continuing to play for your club.”
Some Celtic fans may feel that Brown made it clear there his commitments lie with Celtic but he passed up the chance to definitively close the door on his international career.
And plenty of fans on Twitter made it clear that they wouldn’t welcome Brown back into the international setup purely for a tournament that he would have played no part in qualifying for.
Steve Clarke should not even consider taking up Scott Brown if he decides that he is available for selection for the Play Offs.

Why should he? Retire then come back if we qualify? Go and do one.

No way! if he didn't want to be part of the qualifying then he shouldn't be allowed into the finals if Scotland make it..

I can’t see who he’s going to replace on the bench….

Scott Brown is that one friend in the group project that does none of the work but wants all of the credit.
