Tottenham Hotspur have made a shock £21 million loan offer for Philippe Coutinho, according to The Times.
The north Londoners could apparently sign the Barcelona playmaker before Thursday’s transfer deadline, with rivals Arsenal having never been interested in the player according to ESPN.

L’Equipe had reported that the Gunners were ready to land the Brazilian, but those claims have been disputed by several outlets since.
ESPN say Spurs and Manchester United have both been offered the chance to land Coutinho, who Barca want off their books this summer.
Coutinho has struggled at the Nou Camp since his move in January 2018, and the club have been trying to offload him but his wages and market value are making a sale particularly difficult.

It is thought that Barca are looking to place Coutinho in the Premier League before the window closes for English clubs on Thursday.
With Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen still a potential outgoing, it is not impossible that Coutinho could become a Spurs player within the next 48 hours.
Tottenham fans react
Although plenty were skeptical, many Spurs fans couldn’t contain their excitement over the idea of Coutinho joining their club:
