Scotland picked up a win in their first game of the UEFA Nations League. Alex McLeish’s side defeated Albania 2-0 with an own goal and a finish from Steven Naismith giving them the win.

There was certainly some interesting managerial decisions from McLeish before the game. One of them certainly caused an Old Firm stir.

The former Rangers manager dropped Celtic number one Craig Gordon for Rangers’ first-team stopper Allan McGregor.

McGregor has been in fine form since being brought back to Ibrox by Steven Gerrard this summer. The 36-year-old arrived after ending his five-year association with Hull City.

The veteran stopper, who now has 39 caps for his nation, has certainly caused a stir by winning back his number one spot for his nation.

Plenty of Celtic fans were certainly disappointed to see Gordon dropped and felt McLeish was perhaps harboring a previous fondness for the player from his time at Rangers and previous Scotland role.

However, it would be fair to say that the majority of Scottish fans on Twitter seemed to back the decision. Plenty felt the Rangers man deserved a chance after his strong start to the season.
