Rangers are reportedly interested in raiding Coventry City for their Brazilian-born midfielder Gustavo Hamer this month – and fans of the English Championship club have reacted to the news on Twitter.
Signed in the summer for £1.2million (BT Sport) from Dutch side PEC Zwolle, Hamer has already starred for newly-promoted second-tier side Coventry – scoring four goals from the middle of the park in 21 games, and creating two.
BT Sport – as per the PA News Agency – claim that while Rangers are not going to be particularly busy in this month’s transfer window, they have been alerted to Hamer’s progress in the Championship and are considering an offer.

Coventry will no doubt look to keep Hamer, given the Netherlands Under-20 international’s immediate importance to their side. He has been integral and will continue to be just that in their fight against the drop.
Rangers, meanwhile, might want a central midfielder given Ryan Jack’s proneness to injury this season and the fact that Steven Davis is entering the twilight of his career – and in the final six months of his current deal.
But Coventry fans have responded on Twitter, making their opinion abundantly clear. They want their side to keep Hamer away from Rangers’ clutches – with one fan suggesting a fee of £10million.
Another suggested a swap with Alfredo Morelos.
