Fans laud Liverpool starlet Neco Williams' Wales display
A number of fans have lauded Neco Williams following the Liverpool starlet’s performance as Wales drew with Albania in Cardiff in their final friendly ahead of Euro 2020.
Williams went into the game having received a boost after receiving a controversial red card in their previous game against France.
It was announced that he was not suspended for Saturday’s fixture. The Reds youngster had been dismissed after the ball hit his arm on the goalline.
Few seemed to hold Williams responsible for the decision. Nevertheless, it does appear that he has managed to prove a point with his latest performance.
The 20-year-old was excellent in the stalemate. In fact, he came agonisingly close to scoring a potential winner.
He produced a thunderous drive from the edge of the box during the second-half. The Albania goalkeeper managed to scoop the ball back before it got the chance to burst through the net.
Many supporters of both Wales and Liverpool took to social media to comment on Williams’ display in the goalless draw.
He is yet to really prove that he will really make the grade at Anfield. It has not escaped the attention of many supporters that others amongst the Liverpool fanbase are not yet convinced by the youngster.
‘Has to start next Saturday’: Fans delighted as Neco Williams shines for Wales
But even his strongest doubter would have to admit that there have been real glimpses of undeniable quality from Williams in recent months.
And many felt that he stepped up on Saturday. Of course, there is tougher opposition to come for Wales. But Williams has seemingly staked a claim to play an important role in the weeks ahead.
With that in mind, here is what some of the fans made of his performance…

Neco Williams having a tidy game for Wales.
Looks a threat going forward, does a little too much with it in dangerous positions though.
Harry Wilson on.

Good performance second half. Neco Williams and Norrington-Davies very impressive. Kieffer Moore has to start next week, but obviously won’t.
