Garry Monk added some spice to the pre-match buildup before Sheffield Wednesday hosted one of his former clubs Birmingham City last night.
The match had less spark and ended in a 1-1 draw, as Kadeem Harris’ 81st minute strike cancelled out Alvaro Gimenez’s second half opener.
And regardless of what Monk said before the match, many Owls fans after the game hit out at the lack of firepower in the side he put out against the Blues.
Monk has generally favoured a safety-first style throughout his career and that approach can badly lack creativity if he doesn’t get the balance right on the counter attack.

Many supporters on Twitter felt that was the case last night and has been a problem with Monk’s management, calling on him to make more of the attacking options on offer at the club.
Making comments like Monk did in midweek only draws attention to yourself and if the results don’t follow on the pitch, it can leave a manager looking a tad foolish.
