Failure to heed Klopp’s message will cost Liverpool eventually

Liverpool have been as successful so far this season as many might have predicted pre-season; but the way they have got those results has been much less predictable.

Before this season, Klopp’s Reds side had been flawed slightly; always capable of scoring – and scoring heavily – against anyone but unable to cut down their goals conceded to a level where they could be considered title challengers.

The reverse has been true this time around; Liverpool’s attack is still waiting to sparkle into life, but their defence has been rock solid in the meantime.

That resilience is welcome, but Jurgen Klopp knows that he cannot get through a whole season like this and enjoy success.

Premier League sides are better prepared for what Mo Salah and the rest of the Reds attack can produce now; he is a marked man and the frontline’s movements will have been studied.

Klopp will not change his approach, so the onus is on his players to raise their game to the level it was at last season.

Do that, and a devastating attack will marry up with a solid defence; and that’s a title winning combination.

Fail, and the pressure on the Reds defence will grow and grow; results will start to suffer. That’s why Klopp is making public points to his squad. They must heed his message if they want to win the title.
