Before Daniel James, there was Steven Zuber in Leeds United’s transfer window plans. Leeds eventually missed out on the Swansea City winger. They fared the same when it came to the Swiss winger.
A report from German publication Bild suggested that the Hoffenheim winger was being considered as an option for the club this month. Yorkshire Evening Post chief Phil Hay confirmed the interest on his official twitter account. The Mirror suggested a big asking price of £10.8 million, so a loan deal seemed a likely option.
He had been struggling to hold down a regular starting place with the German side this season and Leeds were hoping to take advantage of that fact with a swoop for his services.
Despite that, he was still a player featuring semi-regularly in the Champions League who had scored against Brazil at the World cup. This would be a marquee addition.

However, Leeds missed out. Zuber instead decided to join
Yesterday, whilst Leeds were not in action, Zuber was scoring his first goal for his new club. He netted a penalty to equalise against RB Leipzig yesterday.
However, things have not exactly gone smoothly for him at his new club. Yesterday was his fifth game for his new club and, so far, Zuber is yet to taste victory. Four defeats and one draw, in which Stuttgart have conceded 15 goals, suggests the problem is at the other end of the pitch.
But with Zuber not exactly turning things around at the relegation-threatened side, Leeds fans will probably feel fine for now regarding this transfer miss.
