Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have scheduled a meeting with Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag ahead of replacing Jose Mourinho – with the impressive Dutch boss open to leaving his current club this summer.

Ten Hag, 51, has starred at Ajax since taking over in 2017 and is on the verge of securing his second Eredivisie title with Ajax currently 12 points clear at the top of the Dutch league with four league game to play this season.

They need just one point, and Ten Hag deserves massive credit for seeing off competition from the likes of PSV. The Dutch side have won 24 of their 30 league games this season, and Ten Hag has won 119 of his 163 Ajax games.

The Telegraph recently claimed that Ten Hag has been added to Tottenham’s shortlist and now, Romano has stated that a meeting has been scheduled between Spurs and the Dutch boss – and that he is open to leaving Ajax.

TBR’s view – Ten Hag has enormous potential

Ten Hag is in his biggest job at the moment and he has passed with flying colours. The win rate is incredible, his transfer acumen is second to none – Sebastian Haller, for example, has 17 goal involvements in 19 games.

That is, after Haller joined from West Ham in January. He also has a winning mentality and trophies in the cabinet. While he is yet to manage in one of Europe’s top leagues, Ten Hag would be a brilliant appointment for Spurs.
