Alexander Isak is ready to leave Newcastle United, and Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have all made the headlines recently.
The Sweden international is one of the best strikers in world football. He has been unbelievable for the Magpies, who are desperate to keep hold of him.
Isak was left out of the Newcastle United squad for their tour of Asia on Thursday, and the reason for his absence was revealed to be a slight injury.
However, just minutes later, reports revealed that Isak had informed Newcastle that he wants to explore a move away from the club.
So, which team could sign him in the coming days?
Fabrizio Romano shares whether Manchester United or Chelsea will make a move for Alexander Isak
Manchester United are in need of a new striker this summer.
The Red Devils wanted Hugo Ekitike, but he chose Liverpool. The other target for Ruben Amorim was Viktor Gyokeres, but he is on his way to Arsenal.
If you were to ask Manchester United fans to name their dream striker target, many would now point to Alexander Isak, given his desire to leave Newcastle.
However, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that United will definitely not make a move for Isak this summer, and neither will Chelsea.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are on it.
Romano said in a video on his YouTube channel: “For Alexander Isak, Man United are not a part of the conversation. Man United want to sign a top striker, but Isak is too expensive. So, Man United are not working on this deal.
“Also, Chelsea, there were some rumours today after the story of Alexander Isak exploring the move away from Newcastle, but no. Chelsea are not a part of the conversation. Not interested.
“They are very happy with the strikers they signed and the strikers they have. So, they are not working on a deal to sign Alexander Isak. They wanted him one year ago. One year ago, there was a possibility for Chelsea to try. Now, it is not the case.”
Romano concluded by saying: “No Chelsea for Alexander Isak, No Manchester United. Liverpool are on it.”
Manchester United open talks to sign another striker
Isak would’ve been an incredible signing, but every Manchester United fan would’ve known that it was never going to happen.
However, the Red Devils still need a new striker, and Romano has revealed that talks took place between them and Aston Villa for Ollie Watkins on Thursday.
There was direct contact between the two clubs, but Villa made it clear that they want to keep their striker and have no interest in negotiating.
If a move were to happen, Romano says that United will have to come up with a very important proposal to force Aston Villa’s hand.
It remains to be seen if that will happen in the coming days.
