Leicester City are edging ever closer to getting the signing of Stefano Sensi over the line.

Over the past few days, speculation linking the Foxes and the Inter Milan ace has been intensifying.

On Thursday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Leicester and the Nerazzurri agreed a fee of €2million (£1.7million) for Sensi.

And on Saturday morning, Fabrizio Romano claimed that Sensi has already agreed personal terms with Leicester and really wants to move to the King Power.

Now, the transfer insider has dropped a new update, claiming that Leicester are confident to wrap the Sensi deal up by early next week.

Inter are currently competing in the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, with the final against Napoli taking place on Monday.

As soon as Sensi returns from the tournament, then the Foxes will look to close the deal. All parties are currently “on the verge” of doing so.

Sensi looks set to join Leicester as a replacement for Cesare Casadei, who has returned to parent club Chelsea.

Leicester on verge of sealing Stefano Sensi deal

Leicester are now getting ever closer to bolstering their midfield ranks with a proven Serie A star as they seek to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Sensi has enjoyed a superb career in Italian football over the years, registering 56 appearances for Inter and 68 for Sassuolo, as well as winning nine caps for the Azzurri.

If all goes well, it looks as though we’ll get the “here we go” early next week. Or maybe it could come even earlier, with the official announcement set for the coming days.

Either way, it looks like, barring any unwelcome late twists, Sensi should soon be playing for the 2015-16 Premier League champions.
