Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Manchester United are fully behind Rasmus Hojlund despite his underwhelming start to life in the Premier League.
The Dane joined the Red Devils in the summer, and he came in with a lot of hype. However, his goalless start to the season in the Premier League has led to some serious criticism, with Tony Cascarino going as far as calling him a Championship-level player. Manchester United, however, aren’t giving up on him.

Fabrizio Romano shares what Manchester United insiders are telling him about Rasmus Hojlund
Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta in the summer in a deal worth £72 million (Sky Sports).
The 20-year-old has been one of the most talented young forwards in Europe for a couple of years now, and many people expected him to hit the ground running at Old Trafford.
However, he has zero goals and zero assists to his name in 13 Premier League games so far this season, which is a shocking return for a player who cost as much as he did.
Hojlund, however, managed to score five goals in six Champions League group-stage games. Erik ten Hag admitted that has been a big positive, and people at Manchester United are apparently pointing at the same record to justify why they are backing him to succeed.
Romano told GiveMeSport: “Man Utd trust Hojlund 100%. They can see the potential.
“They always mention the goals in the Champions League, which is a significant number because five goals in a Champions League group is a considerable number, especially in a difficult campaign for Manchester United.
“But in general, they can see the potential. They can see how hard the boy is working. He’s super professional. He’s very talented, and he has great potential. So they knew that probably, in the Premier League, it would take some time to adapt and to be ready for that kind of level.
“But the boy is very good, and the potential is there. Man Utd have no doubts about that. He’s still working very hard. From what I’m told, he’s very serious, so I’m sure he will succeed.”

Rasmus Hojlund will come good for Manchester United
It’s never easy for any player, let alone a 20-year-old, to come to the Premier League and hit the ground running, especially in a team that’s struggling to score goals.
Rasmus Hojlund was always going to need time to adapt to the pace and intensity of the English game, and even though he’s yet to score or assist in the Premier League, there have been a few positive signs.
The Dane’s movement has been really good and he has found himself in a few dangerous positions. He is a handful to deal with as well and causes defenders all sorts of problems in and around the box.
Manchester United’s midfielders and wide players need to feed Hojlund a lot more in the coming games. Once he gets better service – be it under Erik ten Hag or a different manager – we’re convinced he will start firing.
