Fabrizio Romano has some good news for Arsenal fans – the Gunners have rejected West Ham United’s approach to sign Emile Smith Rowe.

Mikel Arteta‘s side are fully focused on the game against Crystal Palace today, but there was some distraction yesterday with rumours flying around about Smith Rowe’s future. Now, it looks like a decision has been made.

Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal have rejected West Ham’s approach to sign Emile Smith Rowe

Numerous reports claimed yesterday that West Ham United are interested in signing Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old Englishman hasn’t played a lot of football over the last 18 months. Injuries have really troubled him, and that has reduced his game time drastically.

Smith Rowe is fit now and fighting for his place at Arsenal. West Ham, however, recognised that he doesn’t play that often and decided to try their luck.

The Hammers apparently approached Arsenal to sign the Englishman on loan, but Fabrizio Romano has revealed this morning that the Gunners have rejected that offer.

The journalist tweeted: “Arsenal have rejected West Ham initial approach for Emile Smith-Rowe to join on loan.

“No intention to let ESR leave on loan as still considered key for Arteta squad; player also happy to stay at #AFC.”

Arsenal have made the right decision

Emile Smith Rowe has the ability to become one of the best players in the Premier League.

The Englishman was absolutely amazing for Arsenal when he broke into the side under Mikel Arteta a few years ago. He was so good that he even earned an England call-up.

Injuries have stalled his career over the last 18 months, but he is fit now and waiting for opportunities to come his way so he can show everyone what he’s all about.

West Ham were smart to make a move for Smith Rowe, but Arsenal are absolutely right to turn that offer down this morning. There’s no way he should be leaving the club this month.
