Fabrizio Romano shares Nayef Aguerd update after being asked by West Ham supporter on Twitter
Fabrizio Romano has sought to reassure West Ham United supporters regarding the Nayef Aguerd transfer situation.
On Wednesday, reports claimed the Rennes ace had undergone the first part of his Hammers medical.
Aguerd was then expected to undergo the second part of his medical in London ahead of joining West Ham.
However, reports emerged claiming Newcastle were also eyeing the Morocco international.
Indeed, the Daily Star claimed that Aguerd hadn’t made up his mind on who to join – the Hammers or the Magpies.
And on Thursday afternoon/evening, it was reported that Aguerd was not at Rush Green.
However, things still seem to be on the right track regarding Aguerd and West Ham.
Just before 6pm, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claimed that the 26-year-old had arrived in London.
He added that the second part of the West Ham medical would be “in next 24 hours ahead of finalising move”.
And ExWHUemployee also appeared more positive later in the evening.
Likewise, Fabrizio Romano’s reply to a West Ham fan suggests things are still on the right path.
Obviously, until all the paperwork is signed, medicals completed and announcement made, it’s not a done deal.
Aguerd is clearly one of David Moyes’ priority targets at West Ham.
And bringing the 26-year-old to the London Stadium this summer will be pivotal to the club’s hopes of achieving success next term.
