Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on reports claiming Tottenham Hotspur have already agreed a deal to buy Djed Spence.
On Friday afternoon, The Guardian reported that Spurs and Middlesbrough had struck a deal of around £20million for Spence.
However, Romano took to Twitter claiming Tottenham and Boro remain in talks amid interest from a “few” other clubs.
Discussions over Spence’s future will continue in the coming days, added the transfer insider.

Despite Romano claiming there hasn’t been a breakthrough yet, it looks as though discussions over Spence are heading in the right direction for Spurs.
Tottenham have already got the signings of two players over the line in Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.
And with ENIC providing Spurs with a £150million cash injection, Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have a better chance of landing top targets.

Spence is certainly a top talent and a player who could become a star for Tottenham.
The 21-year-old announced himself to a nationwide audience earlier this year when he helped knock Arsenal out of the FA Cup.
Ian Wright labelled his display against the Gunners ‘unbelievable‘.
Spence looked a cut above in the Championship last term, helping Forest return to the Premier League after 23 years.
Although Steve Cooper’s Reds are still keen on him, it looks as though Spurs are frontrunners for his signature.
If Spence joins Tottenham and can carry on the form he’s shown at Forest and buy into Conte’s methods, then the sky’s the limit.
