Spurs have been linked with Nikola Milenkovic and Pau Torres in recent weeks.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Tottenham aren’t likely to land either defender.

The esteemed journalist says Spurs aren’t planning a bid for the Fiorentina colossus.

Milenkovic was linked with West Ham as well as Tottenham, but he’s now apparently discussing a new contract with the Viola.

As for Torres, Romano says Spurs have “never been close” to landing him, as he wants Champions League football.

But Spurs legend Graham Roberts has sought to put a positive spin on things.

After all, Tottenham have signed Cristian Romero, the reigning Serie A Defender of the Season and Copa America winner.

The Lilywhites remain linked with Bologna defender and Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu.
