It’s taken a while, but Liverpool’s transfer window is finally up and running.
The Reds have sprung to life over the past few days, and two signings are soon to be confirmed.
Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to join from Valencia, while, excitingly, Federico Chiesa is set to sign from Juventus.
Chiesa’s arrival at Anfield is very exciting to say the least, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian may play a different role at Liverpool.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano noted how Liverpool want to use Chiesa, and he says that things will be very different at Anfield.
According to Romano, Chiesa has been playing in a very defensive team under Max Allegri at Juventus, but now, he’s going to play a role which he prefers as he’s set to be more attacking once again.
Federico Chiesa’s role will change
Romano shared what he knows about Chiesa.
“The deal is now done, Juventus will receive what they wanted €15m, but Liverpool have negotiated add-ons in that deal,” Romano said.
“A great player like Juventus, he has been unlucky and he was also playing in a defensive system under Max Allegri. At Liverpool it will be a completely different, a different idea, a different approach, it will be really similar to what Chiesa likes to do on the pitch.”

Chiesa could thrive for Liverpool
Chiesa will play in a more attacking role for Liverpool, and that’s where he can thrive.
The Italian is, at his best, a serious threat in the final third. He has a remarkable left foot, and he has electric pace.
Chiesa could be a revelation at Liverpool in an attacking role, and if all goes to plan, he could provide some serious competition to Mohamed Salah down that right side.
It’s taken a while for Liverpool to get going this summer, but they may be about to make the most exciting signing of the window in the shape of Chiesa.
